After years of searching, Paperchain Pre-School and Nursery has found a new home at London Colney Nursery and Primary School.

Thanks to this lifeline, Paperchain has opened a purpose-built nursery room and covered and uncovered outdoor play area this month.

Paperchain’s owner Caroline George said: “My ethos is every child should be able to have a pre-school education that should not break the bank.

“If not, there is no incentive for them to go to work.”

A morning’s care at Paperchain costs £14 per morning, which Ms George claims is “unheard of” in St Albans and London Colney.

The nursery was previously based at St Peter’s Parish Centre, but only had a small courtyard for a play area.

They won a government grant in 2008 to create a purpose-built nursery before the funding was removed by the coalition government.
