Letter: Words fail me

The New Year 2018 will head us ever closer to the most catastrophic decision this country has ever taken. We will be the laughing stock of the world. Those politicians who have orchestrated such a calamity will have ensured they are not the losers while many, especially the poor, will bear the damnable consequences.

Nigel Farage will not, he has assured us, be forsaking his EU pension. David Cameron, who orchestrated such an apocalyptic outcome, has largely disappeared from public attention, whilst at the same time securing a lucrative American appointment.

Meanwhile to divert our minds from such calamitous matters we have the joyous forthcoming wedding of the unelected prince and his divorced partner to cheer us all up.

That old expression ‘words fail me’ was never more appropriate.
